Senior Cloud Support Engineer I

About the role

Strategy (MicroStrategy) is hiring a Senior Cloud Support Engineer I for its fully on-site position in Tysons Corner, Virginia, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM. The engineer provides advanced technical support for the Business Intelligence product suite, the Strategy Cloud platform and its underlying technologies, acting as an escalation point for Cloud Support Engineers. The role combines customer support, incident resolution and technical leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advanced support for the Business Intelligence suite, Cloud platform and underlying technologies, escalating issues to Cloud Support Engineers.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers and partners during project development, production maintenance and critical incident resolution.
• Work with development teams to resolve customer issues and communicate product defects and enhancements with technical context.
• Create and review customer-facing documentation and product documentation addendums.
• Manage day-to-day operations of the Strategy Cloud infrastructure, including scheduled and emergency maintenance and on-call coverage.
• Help create Standard Operating Procedures and best practices, and mentor junior team members and lead technical training and knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3-5 years of experience supporting, administering or operating cloud-based platforms or BI enterprise applications in a customer-facing role.
• Root cause analysis for complex incidents, strong time management and excellent written and spoken English.
• Preferred: certification and experience mentoring junior engineers.

Required skills

• Strong experience with Kubernetes, Python, REST API, Java, SQL, HTML or XML/XSL.
• Windows/Linux system administration, including networking, security and performance troubleshooting.
• Functional knowledge of Azure, AWS and GCP (compute, storage, networking, identity and access management).

What we offer

• Base salary range of $83,100 to $149,500.
