Senior Clinic Assistant

About the role

The Senior Clinic Assistant works directly with patients and healthcare facilities to gather and prepare medical records for first clinic visits. The role also supports patient care activities, including basic nursing tasks and laboratory specimen collection.

Key responsibilities

• Explain HIPAA regulations to patients and obtain required signatures.
• Submit signed consents to retrieve medical records, x‑rays, and reports.
• Track pending records to ensure delivery before appointments.
• Communicate with nurse coordinators when records are difficult to obtain.
• Travel within the facility and campus to collect records, films, or CDs.
• Collect and prepare specimens as needed.
• Maintain accurate clinical records while preserving confidentiality.
• Assemble, complete, and process patient charts.
• Assist with ordering, receiving, distributing, sorting, and storing supplies.
• Report suspicious or unusual incidents to supervisory personnel.
• Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, sending faxes/emails, and scanning/copying documents.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent, or relevant certification/license.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a clinical or medical records environment.
