Senior Category Manager – CPG Sales Strategy

About the role

Magic Spoon is seeking a senior‑level Category Manager to join its Sales Strategy and Planning team. This full‑time, remote position reports to the Senior Director of Sales Strategy and Planning and focuses on leveraging analytics to grow existing accounts and win new retail partners.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the subject‑matter expert on category dynamics, shopper insights, channel shifts, and competitive landscapes.
• Own consumption data analysis, track marketing and trade performance, and translate macro trends into actionable strategies.
• Design, build, and maintain the insights ecosystem, ensuring tools and data sources scale with business needs.
• Develop retailer‑specific growth opportunities and tactical recommendations aligned with Magic Spoon’s strategic priorities.
• Create data‑backed selling materials to support the sales team in securing distribution, shelf space, and merchandising wins.
• Establish KPI frameworks and executive reporting tools to monitor category performance.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Innovation, and Leadership to provide insights, tools, and analytics support.
• Manage relationships with external partners to maximize platform capabilities while representing Magic Spoon’s mission and values.

Required profile

• 8+ years of category management experience in the consumer goods/food retail sector.
• Proven ability to use Spins, Nielsen, IRI/Circana data to drive retail sales.
• Strong analytical mindset with a track record of data‑driven decision making.
• Deep knowledge of the natural and grocery retail landscape and the CPG selling process.
• Excellent collaboration skills across sales, retail teams, and C‑suite stakeholders.
• Outstanding oral, presentation, and written communication abilities.
• Comfortable thriving in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
