Senior Buyer

About the role

Moog’s Space division in Gilbert, AZ is seeking a Senior Buyer to lead procurement for multiple business areas, supporting Assembly & Test and other functions. The role blends strategic supplier development with day‑to‑day buying to meet program schedules, cost, quality and delivery targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned commodities.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing and terms to achieve cost savings and risk reduction.
• Manage supplier performance, on‑time delivery and quality metrics, escalating issues as needed.
• Collaborate with planning, production and engineering to support component gating and kit releases.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation plans for material and supplier risks.
• Perform data‑driven analyses and trend analyses to identify opportunities and forecast needs.
• Place and expedite purchase orders, monitor status and provide reliable delivery dates to internal stakeholders.
• Lead or participate in cross‑functional problem‑solving initiatives and continuous‑improvement activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or related field (or associate degree with 5 years experience).
• Minimum 3 years of procurement experience in a complex manufacturing environment; aerospace/defense preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational skills and sense of urgency.
• Knowledge of FAR/DFAR regulations and experience sourcing electronic components.
