Senior Batch Developer (Linux/C/SQL) – Claims & Pharmacy

About the role

Gainwell is seeking a Senior Batch Developer to design, build, and maintain core batch processing systems for claims and pharmacy solutions. This fully remote position allows you to work from anywhere in the United States while contributing to healthcare technology used by millions of patients.

Key responsibilities

• Code, test, debug, implement, and document moderately complex batch programs.
• Analyze requirements, design specifications, and write detailed program designs.
• Evaluate existing systems, assist the project manager with task assignments, and collaborate closely with a development team.
• Liaise with clients and management to provide technical consulting, validate requirements, and resolve issues.
• Develop test plans, participate in QA activities, and conduct code reviews.
• Lead small sub‑teams of developers when needed and delegate component responsibilities.
• Participate in production support, including on‑call rotation.

Required profile

• 9+ years of application development and batch programming experience.
• Strong background with Unix/Linux, C, and SQL (Oracle or similar).
• Experience in claims processing, pharmacy point‑of‑sale, and EDI workflows.
• Familiarity with NCPDP standards is highly desired.
• Proven ability to work independently and lead technical teams.
