Senior Backend Engineer – Remote

About the role

Nango, a YC‑backed developer infrastructure startup, is looking for senior‑level backend engineers to own and evolve its core platform. You will work remotely with a global team, shaping APIs, services, and developer tools that power integrations for hundreds of customers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale backend systems, APIs, and services for an open‑source platform.
• Create developer‑focused interfaces, including SDKs, UIs, and runtime components.
• Collaborate directly with customers to solve integration challenges.
• Optimize performance, scalability, and reliability across all backend services.
• Influence product roadmap and company strategy through high‑ownership decisions.
• Maintain and grow the open‑source repository and community engagement.

Required profile

• 5+ years (senior) or 10+ years (staff) of backend engineering experience with high‑traffic systems.
• Deep knowledge of developer infrastructure, APIs, databases, and performance‑critical architectures.
• Passion for developer tools and delivering excellent developer experience.
• Comfortable working in a remote‑first, autonomous startup environment.
• Based in North America, LATAM, or Europe.
