Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

In Tandem is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who will drive AI‑native development across our family‑focused platforms. You will work remotely from the United States, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ship features that reduce the mental load for parents and children.

Key responsibilities

• Write detailed specifications and orchestrate AI agents to deliver functional features.
• Review and validate agent‑generated output, ensuring high‑quality releases.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA analysts, automation engineers, and web/mobile engineers.
• Participate in agile rituals, API guild meetings, and internal skills/plugins ecosystem.
• Rotate across multiple teams and products to gain broad platform exposure before settling in a long‑term engineering group.

Required profile

• Senior‑level backend engineer with a proven track record of shipping production‑ready services.
• Experience with AI‑native development workflows and a strong systems judgment.
• U.S. based candidates only; no sponsorship available.
