Senior Associate Quality Assurance

About the role

Amgen is hiring a Senior Associate Quality Assurance for its Thousand Oaks, CA site. The role is fully onsite and involves sampling and inspection of raw materials and components, mainly chemicals, and may require extended time in the sampling suite. Physical requirements include lifting 30+ pounds and passing a vision assessment for inspection work, and maneuvering loads of 50+ pounds. Previous GMP experience is a plus but not mandatory, as training is provided.

Key responsibilities

• Sample and inspect raw materials and components
• Review documentation for assigned functions, such as equipment and maintenance records
• Lead small projects and continuous improvement initiatives
• Operate and maintain sampling instruments and equipment (e.g., Toledo balance, drum lift, pallet jack)
• Maneuver large drums
• Maintain training records and record and compute data
• Apply general knowledge of aseptic techniques, cGMPs, gowning, sampling procedures and safety guidelines

Required profile

• High school/GED plus 4 years of quality experience, or an associate's degree plus 2 years of quality experience, or a bachelor's degree plus 6 months of quality or operations experience
• Master's degree preferred
• Ability to lift 30+ pounds and maneuver 50+ pounds, and pass a vision assessment for inspection work

Required skills

• Proficiency with documentation systems, databases and spreadsheets
• Teamwork, multi-tasking, basic problem solving, written and verbal communication, attention to detail and time management
• Prior GMP experience, production/warehouse equipment use and familiarity with inspection equipment are preferred
