About the role
The Senior Assistant or Associate Director of Enrollment Communications leads the development and execution of Carleton’s admissions and financial‑aid communications strategy. Working closely with divisional leaders and the Office of Communications, this role shapes messaging across print, digital, and web channels to attract and retain a diverse, high‑performing student body.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement an integrated communications plan for the entire enrollment cycle.
- Create, test, and deliver personalized print and digital campaigns to prospects, applicants, admits, and enrolled students.
- Manage the design, production, and distribution of all admissions‑related materials from inquiry through matriculation.
- Leverage Slate CRM to build configurable queries, generate reports, and measure campaign performance.
- Coordinate with the college’s Office of Communications to ensure brand consistency and alignment with campus‑wide messaging.
- Partner with Admissions and Financial Aid teams to develop program‑specific communications and website content.
- Set and oversee the operating budget for print and digital media.
- Maintain inventory practices, supervise communications staff, and ensure timely delivery of all communications assets.
- Analyze effectiveness of communications initiatives and recommend data‑driven improvements.
Required profile
- Proven experience developing and executing communications strategies in higher‑education admissions or a comparable environment.
- Strong leadership skills with experience supervising a communications team.
- Ability to manage budgets and coordinate cross‑functional projects.
- Data‑oriented mindset with experience measuring campaign impact and adjusting tactics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on audience‑centric messaging.
