Senior Architectural Designer

About the role

Amentum Nuclear Projects, a Tier 1 service provider to the U.S. Department of Energy, is looking for a Senior Architectural Designer. You will work with groups of architects and designers to complete the technical portions of projects within established budgets and schedules, in Oak Ridge, TN or Idaho Falls, ID, with occasional business travel. The work supports infrastructure projects that improve communities across the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Work with architects and designers to deliver the technical parts of projects on time and within budget
• Produce specifications and review the work of other staff for technical accuracy, providing guidance
• Follow established Amentum quality procedures and ensure work under your control meets them
• Lead groups of architects and designers on technical project portions, within set budgets and schedules (preferred)

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience designing commercial or industrial facilities, with projects delivered from concept through detailed design
• Experience with the International Building Code (IBC)
• U.S. citizenship required; valid driver's license required
• Ability to work in the office and attend as needed; occasional travel and work near construction equipment
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, LEED AP, DOE Q clearance, NCARB registration, ISO 9000/NQA-1 quality system experience, DOE experience, and commutable distance from the Oak Ridge office

Required skills

• Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation and similar discipline-specific software
• Microsoft 365
• Knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application and manufacturer-supplier selection
