Senior Architect - Nuclear Projects

About the role

Amentum, a Tier 1 service provider to the U.S. Department of Energy and many commercial nuclear companies, is seeking a Senior Architect for its Oak Ridge, TN office. The role leads a group of architects and designers through the technical portions of projects within established scopes, budgets and schedules, with some business travel. The work involves design, construction methodology, materials and manufacturer-supplier selection.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in architecture from an accredited program and Registered Architect.
• 15 or more years of experience; Licensed Architect in Tennessee with current registration, or licensed elsewhere with ability to obtain Tennessee licensure within six months.
• Experience designing commercial and industrial facilities and delivering projects from concept through detailed design completion.
• US citizenship required; valid driver's license required; must be able to work in the office and in a team atmosphere.
• Preferred: DOE Q clearance, Master's degree, NCARB registration, experience leading architects and designers, DOE/NRC experience, and experience facilitating charrettes.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of the International Building Code (IBC) and specifications.
• Knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application and manufacturer-supplier selection.
• Follows Amentum quality procedures and works within ISO 9000 or NQA-1 quality systems.
• Discipline-specific software such as Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Microsoft Office.
