Senior Application Developer

About the role

Moog is seeking a Senior Application Developer to design, build, and operate enterprise‑grade applications on Microsoft Azure and on‑premises environments. The position is hybrid, with three days a week on site at the East Aurora, NY facility, and offers the chance to work on cutting‑edge cloud, AI‑assisted, and DevOps practices.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud applications using .NET (C#, MVC, Blazor) and Java (Struts 2, Spring) while applying modern front‑end and back‑end patterns.
• Perform code analysis, refactoring, and modernization with AI‑assisted tools to improve maintainability, test coverage, performance, and security.
• Apply AI‑assisted development practices responsibly across the software delivery lifecycle and document best‑practice guardrails.
• Manage data platforms on Azure and on‑premises, including PaaS SQL databases and Azure Storage (Blob, Queue, Table), handling schema design, migrations, and data integrity.
• Collaborate with distributed engineering, architecture, security, and business teams in an Agile/DevOps environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of professional software development experience.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Azure services (Functions, APIs, messaging, data services).
• Proficiency in multiple programming languages such as C#.NET, Python, and Java.
• Experience building or supporting distributed, cloud‑based applications and working in Agile/DevOps settings.
• Experience with event‑driven architectures and exposure to AI/ML integration is a plus.
