Senior A&P Mechanic

About the role

PHI Health is seeking an experienced Senior A&P Mechanic to join its air‑ambulance team in Palestine, Texas. You will ensure that our helicopter fleet remains airworthy and ready to respond to life‑saving missions across the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Review daily maintenance and inspection requirements and perform tasks to maintain aircraft airworthiness.
• Notify the Lead Mechanic of any unusual situations that require schedule changes, aircraft swaps, extra manpower, or technical assistance.
• Maintain assigned aircraft at field bases, manage stock levels, and requisition spares as needed.
• Prepare reports, requisitions, inventories, and certify work on aircraft logs in compliance with FAA, manufacturer, and PHI Health standards.
• Enter work packages, status sheets, removals and installs in RAMCO and maintain close communication with Lead Mechanic and AMBS.
• Manage parts inventory, recommend level adjustments, and ensure special tools are calibrated on schedule.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• FAA Mechanic Certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
• Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience as a certified aircraft mechanic.
• Ability to pass a pre‑placement physical exam, drug screening, and background check.
• Basic communication skills and computer proficiency.

Required skills

• FAA A&P Mechanic certification.
• Aircraft maintenance and repair (airframe, powerplant, sheet metal).
• Use of RAMCO maintenance software.
• Computer skills for reporting and inventory management.
