Senior Android Developer – Mobile Apps

About the role

Schwab is expanding its mobile development team and seeks a Senior Android Developer to build and enhance native Android applications for a growing user base. You will work on‑site, collaborating with product teams to deliver high‑quality, feature‑rich mobile experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
• Create documentation following Schwab mobile best practices.
• Write and execute unit and UI tests across a range of Android devices.
• Support production systems, troubleshoot issues, and participate in an on‑call rotation.
• Stay current with Android framework, Kotlin updates, Android Studio, and SDK upgrades.
• Collaborate with product teams to innovate new features while adhering to development standards.
• Implement logging, monitoring, and defensive programming practices.
• Deliver assignments on schedule and propose efficiency improvements.

Required profile

• 5+ years of native Android development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and/or Java.
• Experience with unit testing and automated UI testing frameworks (e.g., Appium, Espresso, UI Automator).
• Proven ability to integrate REST APIs and work with CI/CD pipelines.
• Skilled in debugging memory and performance issues on Android.
• Familiarity with dependency‑injection patterns such as Dagger, Hilt, or Koin.
• Experience with Android accessibility features (TalkBack, Dynamic Text).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
