Senior AI/ML Platform Engineer

About the role

Lyra Health, a provider of evidence-based mental health care serving millions of people worldwide, is looking for a Senior AI/ML Platform Engineer to build the platforms, infrastructure and services needed to deliver machine learning and generative AI products. The ideal candidate takes ownership of their work, leads cross-functional projects and mentors other team members.

Key responsibilities

• Work on the machine learning and generative AI platforms used across the company
• Create backend infrastructure for scalable, resilient and high-performance solutions
• Build services that expose machine learning and AI products
• Deploy and manage applications in production

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience delivering production-ready products
• Ability to write high-quality Python code
• Enjoys cross-functional collaboration with therapists, data scientists, engineers and product managers
• Desire to learn new technologies quickly and to build systems from scratch

Required skills

• Modern async Python web frameworks (e.g. FastAPI) and data streaming (WebSockets, Server-Sent Events)
• Docker and Kubernetes deployment
• Relational and low-latency databases
• RAG-based AI solutions and vector databases
• LLM orchestration frameworks (e.g. LangChain, LlamaIndex) and foundation model APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock)
• Nice to have: graph databases (Neo4j, AWS Neptune), LLM observability tools (Langfuse), Celery, Protobuf, Java/Kotlin, AWS, and healthcare-sensitive data
