Senior AI Engineer (Agentic Systems / LLMs) - Remote

About the role

Darwoft, a software factory developing custom software and providing IT staff augmentation for international clients, is looking for a Senior AI Engineer specializing in LLMs and agentic architectures. You will design, build and deploy end-to-end AI agents integrated into business ecosystems, acting as a subject matter expert on generative AI. The role is full-time and remote, with priority given to Darwoft projects during working hours and incompatible with other full-time engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, test and deploy robust, stateful and scalable AI agents using Python and modern frameworks such as Google ADK, LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI and the OpenAI SDK.
• Connect AI agents with data sources, internal services and external APIs to deliver complete, high-value workflows.
• Build evaluation pipelines for LLM-powered agents, focusing on accuracy, response speed and cost efficiency.
• Apply advanced prompt engineering and develop custom tools, RAG architectures and vector search systems.
• Guide technical decisions across the agentic lifecycle based on best practices and protocols.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 1-2 years building and deploying production-grade AI/ML applications focused on LLMs or generative AI.
• Proven experience implementing agentic workflows, including RAG architectures, vector databases and state/memory management.
• Strong understanding of software best practices, Git/GitHub and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to turn business goals into clean, maintainable, well-tested code.
• Nice to have: open-source contributions visible on GitHub, and experience optimizing token usage, latency profiling and LLM cost-attribution models.
