Senior Accountant, Operations Accounting

About the role

The Senior Accountant, Operations Accounting will join a fast‑growing organization in Houston, providing critical cost and revenue accounting expertise. Reporting to the Manager of Operations Accounting, the role focuses on US GAAP compliance, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and SOX controls while collaborating closely with Project Accounting and Project Controls teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly project‑related journal entries in accordance with US GAAP, including ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Perform monthly and ad‑hoc cost and revenue accounting analyses at the project level.
• Execute monthly and quarterly reconciliations for general‑ledger accounts and related subsystems.
• Maintain and organize large project data sets, collaborating with internal groups and external clients.
• Carry out Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) controls for projects, revenue, and financial close management.
• Support internal and external audit requests, including financial‑statement and incurred‑cost audits.
• Identify and lead process‑improvement initiatives for accounting, reporting, and SOX procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related business field (advanced degree preferred).
• Extensive knowledge of US GAAP, especially cost accounting and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Hands‑on experience working in a SOX‑controlled environment.
• Proven ability to collaborate with Project Accounting, Project Controls, and other cross‑functional teams.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
