Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant oversees the accounting operations of the section, ensures the accuracy of financial statements and provides strategic financial insights to support the section's growth and financial health. The role calls for a deep understanding of accounting principles, strong analytical skills and collaboration across departments.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with IFRS.
• Manage the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations and month-end close.
• Support the annual audit by working with corporate accounting to meet external auditors' requests.
• Analyze data and contribute to the review of SBU Investment Committee applications.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures, and lead internal control audits.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and software.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, review and approve accounting batches, and conduct financial analysis for decision-making.
• Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts, monitor variances and explain them.
• Retro process: validate, update and manage retro pricing with customers and suppliers.
• Lead the reconciliation of monthly inventory counts and record necessary adjustments.
• Mentor and guide junior accounting staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with increasing technical complexity.
• CPA preferred.
