Senior Accountant

About the role

iHeartMedia, the largest audio company in America, is hiring a Senior Accountant in San Antonio, Texas. The role works closely with the Accounting Team and Finance partners to turn financial data into actionable information, with full P&L responsibility for the lines of business it supports.

Key responsibilities

• Record and review standard and non-standard accounting transactions, explain variances to forecast and budget, and identify business risks and opportunities with the finance team
• Own complex balance sheet reconciliations, prepare executive summaries, review reconciliations prepared by staff accountants and resolve open items
• Connect transactions to their impact on the P&L and balance sheet, and propose solutions to supervisors
• Support internal and external audits by compiling documentation and ensuring a complete audit trail
• Assist in preparing footnote disclosures and supporting schedules for Corporate Accounting
• Take part in special projects and cross-functional teams, and develop expertise in iHeartMedia's accounting systems

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting and 5+ years of relevant accrual-based accounting experience
• Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and to act as a trusted advisor to colleagues with less experience
• Team and project management experience for mid-sized projects, and ability to manage complex, confidential information

Required skills

• Advanced Excel, including formulas, pivot tables and VLOOKUP
• Financial systems experience (COGNOS, NetSuite, PeopleSoft, etc.)
• Strong written and oral communication across organizational levels
