Senior Accountant

About the role

D.R. Horton is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Accounting Department. The role involves performing a variety of accounting and finance functions with limited supervision, analyzing financial information, and preparing accurate reports to support budgeting and cost projections.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of the company’s financial statements.
• Analyze and help implement new accounting standards.
• Conduct monthly close procedures and meet all deadlines.
• Prepare monthly balance‑sheet account reconciliations.
• Apply GAAP to a wide range of business transactions.
• Perform account analysis and reconciliation for significant balance‑sheet accounts.
• Review and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare journal entries as needed.
• Provide ad‑hoc analyses, reports, and projects for division management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Four to six years of related accounting experience.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and process large volumes of data accurately.
• CPA or CFA designation preferred or candidacy strongly preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel.
• Knowledge and application of GAAP.
