Senior Academic Advisor

About the role

The Senior Academic Advisor provides comprehensive guidance to graduate students, helping them navigate program requirements, course selection, and career planning. Working within the Graduate School, the advisor supports recruitment, admissions, and graduation processes while fostering a positive student experience.

Key responsibilities

• Advise current and prospective students on academic programs, course selection, and career goals.
• Assist students with academic and financial concerns, including probation terms and residency status.
• Process admissions, graduation applications, degree plans, and transcript requests using university software.
• Monitor student progress, verify degree requirements, and track academic status.
• Develop and maintain student records, informational materials, handbooks, and newsletters.
• Coordinate recruitment events, campus tours, and outreach activities.
• Represent the university at graduate recruitment events and build partnerships for internships.
• Supervise office functions and support staff as needed.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of graduate academic policies and procedures.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, parents, faculty, and staff.
• Ability to manage multiple student cases and maintain accurate records.
• Experience in student advising or higher‑education administration.
