Security Officer - Night Patrol Flex Driver

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a Security Officer Flex Driver for night patrol in Honolulu, Hawaii. The officer serves and safeguards clients across healthcare, education, finance, retail and other industries, working 30-40 hours per week on a mix of manager-assigned shifts and self-chosen shifts through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift program. Shifts, days, locations and assignments change regularly, and irregular shifts with little to no advance notice are expected.

Key responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or unauthorized persons
• Warn violators of rules such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles
• Permit authorized persons to enter, monitor entrances and exits, and observe departing personnel to prevent theft
• Investigate and report accidents, incidents and suspicious activity, keeping written logs as required
• Aid customers, employees and visitors courteously and make emergency notifications as needed

Required profile

• Available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights and weekends, and for last-minute scheduling
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license under Allied Universal driver policy requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent; at least 18 years old for unarmed roles, 21+ for armed roles
• Background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment; licensing may be required by state or local law
• Nice to have: ability to speak, read and write multiple languages, and prior security, military or law enforcement experience
