Security Officer - Mobile Unit (Unarmed)

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a full-time Security Officer for its mobile unit in Sparks, Nevada. The officer supports a utilities location by conducting routine unarmed patrols, monitoring access points and helping keep employees, visitors and operations safe. The position is primarily a driving post and pays $23 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Serve and safeguard clients across industries such as utilities, providing customer service to personnel, visitors and contractors through security procedures, site policies and emergency response.
• Respond calmly to incidents, alarms and critical situations, document observations and notify the right people.
• Carry out regular and random unarmed patrols of utility facilities, buildings, parking areas, access points and perimeters.
• Monitor access to designated areas, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and keep accurate visitor, incident and patrol records.
• Report maintenance hazards, suspicious activity and policy violations to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Required profile

• Valid driver's license in line with Allied Universal driver policy; required for driving positions only.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 18 years old for unarmed roles (21+ for armed roles).
• Subject to a background investigation and a drug screen to the extent permitted by law; licensing may be required before employment.

Required skills

• Access control and badge experience preferred.
