Security Manager II – Arizona Supreme Court

About the role
The Arizona Supreme Court is seeking a Security Manager II to lead and coordinate security services across its main building and satellite locations in Phoenix and Tucson. This senior‑level position oversees protective details, transportation for Justices, and responds to potential threats while ensuring compliance with state security standards.
Key responsibilities
- Manage all security operations for the Arizona Supreme Court, including detail and transportation for Justices.
- Supervise, train, and schedule security personnel across multiple facilities.
- Conduct investigations, fill in for staff, and assist during threatening situations.
- Develop, implement, and update security, emergency, and fire‑protection plans.
- Coordinate with law‑enforcement agencies, emergency responders, and IT infrastructure for access‑control systems.
- Maintain security coverage for the State Courts Building and satellite sites in Phoenix and Tucson.
Required profile
- Law‑enforcement or security training equivalent to a four‑year degree.
- Minimum five years of related experience (law enforcement, military police, asset protection, personal security).
- At least two years of supervisory or managerial experience.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean recent citation record.
- Ability to handle confidential assignments and travel up to 25% of the time, including overnight stays.
Required skills
- Operation of metal detectors and X‑ray machines.
- Firearms proficiency and defensive‑tactics expertise.
- Knowledge of security devices and industry‑standard procedures.
- Coordination of computerized access‑control and security systems.
What we offer
- Competitive salary range $73,416 – $83,000 annually, DOE.
- Employee referral incentive of $1,000 (conditions apply).
