Security Engineer – Detection & Response

About the role

The Security Team at Sentry protects customers, code, and infrastructure. As a Security Engineer focused on detection and response, you will design and operate systems that spot malicious activity and implement controls to stop future incidents. You will work cross‑functionally across detection, response, and corporate security domains.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, improve, and own the detection engineering stack, including agentic triage and automation.
• Perform investigations and contribute to security incident response for both Sentry and its customers.
• Develop and operate identity and access management (IAM) solutions.
• Research emerging threats and adapt security controls for novel agentic product features and AI‑assisted workflows.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to embed preventative controls and high‑signal alerting.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in detection & response, corporate security, or generalist security engineering.
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands‑on experience with alert triage, detection tuning, security log ingestion, incident response, and IAM.
• Comfortable programming in at least one language, preferably Python.
