Secondary Student Teaching Supervisor – Spanish

About the role
The Department of Education at Elmhurst University seeks experienced educators to supervise secondary student teachers pursuing licensure in World Languages (Spanish). This temporary position involves mentoring, observation, and collaboration with cooperating teachers.
Key responsibilities
- Observe each assigned student teacher six times per semester.
- Collaborate with cooperating teachers to provide mentorship and resolve issues.
- Participate in required professional development and program planning sessions.
- Complete all mandatory online training for Elmhurst University employees.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required profile
- Minimum five years of teaching and/or administrative experience.
- Current or prior licensure as a teacher or administrator.
- Experience teaching Spanish at the middle or high school level.
- Master's degree or higher in Education.
- Demonstrated supervisory knowledge of World Language pedagogy.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work positively with students, teachers, and leadership.
- Flexible daytime availability.
