Seasonal Operations Technical Specialist (Part‑Time)

About the role
The Seasonal Operations Technical Specialist ensures H&R Block’s seasonal tax offices are ready for business by providing hands‑on operational, technical, and logistical support. Working closely with District Operations Coordinators, Technology Implementation Analysts, and field leadership, you will play a key part in office openings, daily operations, and seasonal closures.
Key responsibilities
- Support the setup, opening, closure, and relocation of seasonal tax offices according to schedules and brand standards.
- Execute office setup tasks such as planogram implementation, installation of window clings, lightboxes, open signs, and verification of brand compliance.
- Perform custodial duties to keep offices clean, organized, and ready for operation.
- Carry out routine building maintenance (replace light bulbs, ceiling tiles, clean HVAC vents, minor repairs, plumbing, low‑voltage electrical work).
- Identify issues that require certified technicians and notify the District Operations Coordinator.
- Install, remove, and support PC hardware across multiple locations under guidance from DOCs and TIAs.
- Troubleshoot basic hardware problems and document incidents in the case‑management system.
- Deliver supplies and materials promptly, maintain accurate inventory of resources, supplies, and equipment.
- Stay current on technical knowledge of supported products and systems and partner with leadership to meet office readiness goals.
- Participate in required training and perform other duties as assigned.
Required profile
- Ability to follow direction while exercising sound judgment in a field‑based environment.
- Physical ability to lift and move office equipment up to 55 lb (with reasonable accommodation).
- Basic technical knowledge of setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting computer hardware and office technology.
- Comfort working independently in a fast‑paced, seasonal role with a flexible schedule.
- Strong organization, prioritization, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.
- Reliable transportation to travel between office locations.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and other Microsoft Office applications.
