Seasonal Art Handler

About the role

The Seasonal Art Handler ensures that artworks are safely prepared, displayed, and transported for exhibitions and client viewings. This position supports galleries and warehouse operations in a fast‑paced, high‑value environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install and de‑install artwork in galleries and storage areas.
• Store artworks securely in the warehouse.
• Load and unload trucks, moving crated works throughout galleries and the warehouse.
• Pack and unpack artworks for shipment, including crate construction or retro‑fitting.
• Assist in gallery preparation by spackling, light painting, framing, unframing, and mounting.
• Assess artwork safety and take corrective actions as needed.
• Support photographers during shoots and act as a viewing assistant for special events.
• Dispose of unused crates and materials and perform ad‑hoc duties as requested.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience in an auction house, recognized gallery, fine‑art shipping firm, or museum.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and work on weekends or evenings when required.
• Professional, punctual, and proactive with strong organizational skills.
• Effective time and resource management under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
• Capacity to collaborate with multiple internal teams.
