Scientific Grant Writer - Hybrid

About the role

The University of Miami’s UHealth Department of SCCC is seeking a full‑time Hybrid Scientific Grant Writer (Scientific Writer 2) to support principal investigators in developing competitive grant proposals and related scientific documents. Working primarily on the UHealth medical campus in Miami, the role blends on‑site collaboration (approximately one day per week) with remote work.

Key responsibilities

• Create, implement, and maintain templates for competitive grant applications.
• Draft, format, edit, proofread, and finalize scientific documents, ensuring readability, clarity, and compliance with sponsor requirements.
• Collaborate with principal investigators and senior leadership to verify accuracy and meet internal and external deadlines.
• Research, compose, and edit clinical and statistical reports, study protocols, and regulatory submissions.
• Summarize clinical study data for governmental and regulatory agencies.
• Prepare scientific presentations, ensuring content accuracy and adherence to time limits.
• Maintain documentation for copyright transfers, conflict‑of‑interest statements, and publisher requirements.
• Track publication progress and respond to queries as needed.
• Ensure all documents conform to university policies, current guidelines, and applicable regulations.

Required profile

• Ability to collect and analyze complex scientific data across multiple disciplines.
• Strong written communication skills for translating scientific concepts to varied audiences.
• Experience working with principal investigators and senior research leaders.
• Demonstrated capacity to meet strict internal and sponsor submission deadlines.
• Familiarity with university and regulatory policies governing scientific publications.
