About the role

The Satellite Database Systems Engineer will design, develop, and maintain databases that support satellite integration, operations, telemetry processing, mission planning, and analytics. The role focuses on handling large‑scale telemetry and command data, especially Mission Information Base (MIB) formats.

Key responsibilities

Process, validate, and integrate MIB files into satellite operations software.
Develop and optimise relational and non‑relational database architectures for high‑volume telemetry and command data.
Implement cloud‑based database solutions (AWS RDS, Azure Cosmos DB, Google BigQuery) and containerised deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).
Automate data pipelines using Python, SQL, and shell scripting, and work with database APIs.
Ensure security and compliance through encryption, access control, and best‑practice database hardening.

Required profile

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
10+ years of experience in database engineering for satellite missions, preferably with LEO/MEO communication constellations.
Proven experience with MIB telemetry and command databases and familiarity with CCSDS standards.

Required skills

Mission Information Base (MIB) handling and parsing.
CCSDS telemetry/command standards.
Relational and non‑relational database design.
Cloud databases: AWS RDS, Azure Cosmos DB, Google BigQuery.
