Sample Management Coordinator III (Lab Support)

About the role

The Sample Management Coordinator III supports customer orders by solubilizing and plating highly potent compounds, managing sample staging, and maintaining inventory within the Consumer Products Services laboratory. This position reports to the Manager and works full‑time on‑site in Indianapolis.

Key responsibilities

• Provide directed sample submission support, including inspection, solubilization, tube creation, and plating of samples for shipping.
• Process customer orders, prioritize based on comments, and handle sample shipping and receiving.
• Transfer sample submission containers and plate deliveries between facilities and monitor plate staging locations.
• Inspect testing plates to ensure automation systems meet quality standards and communicate issues.
• Manage reference compounds and support archive operations such as loading/unloading from automated storage, refrigerators, and freezers.
• Maintain sample storage, resolve issues like misplaced samples, and perform tube audits.
• Follow laboratory SOPs, safety guidelines, and quality, health, safety, security, and environmental policies.
• Assist with administrative tasks for departmental projects and communicate effectively with internal and client personnel.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a closely related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Minimum of one year of laboratory research experience in a detail‑oriented environment.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision while meeting turnaround times.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the MS Office Suite.
• Experience using SharePoint sites.
• Comfort handling chemical samples, including solubilization and plating of potent compounds.
