Sales Representative

About the role

The Sales Representative will drive new business for Summits by selling fire protection systems and related services to construction, renovation and retrofit projects. This role combines both outside and inside sales activities and requires strong relationship building with customers and industry stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Acquire sales leads for fire protection system installations and support across all disciplines.
• Provide both outside and inside sales efforts, targeting new construction, renovations, additions and retrofits.
• Lead the sales process from initial contact or bid invitation through contract award and Notice to Proceed.
• Generate new proposals, follow up on active proposals and close sales.
• Communicate proposal status to management and attend internal and external meetings.
• Represent the company professionally to customers, authorities and partners.
• Assist project managers and design teams with schedules, product information and coordination.
• Support accounting with job set‑up, profitability monitoring, billing and change orders.
• Utilize accounting software for cost tracking and billing.
• Participate in general marketing and promotional activities.

Required profile

• Self‑starter who is organized and detail‑oriented.
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and reliable transportation.
• Ability to comply with Summits’ drug and alcohol policy and background check.
• High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in business development or fire life‑safety sales preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Basic computer operation skills.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
