Safety Specialist

About the role

The Safety Specialist supports the administration, implementation, and continuous improvement of Solairus' Safety Management System (SMS) and related safety programs. Working across flight operations, maintenance, and support functions, the role helps maintain regulatory compliance and a proactive Just Culture.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain the company’s SMS, including manuals, policies, and procedures.
• Support safety meetings, committees, and review boards by preparing materials, minutes, and follow‑up items.
• Receive, review, document, and track safety and hazard reports; conduct preliminary severity assessments.
• Assist with formal risk assessments, maintain hazard logs, risk registers, and mitigation records.
• Help investigate incidents, accidents, injuries, and procedural deviations, collecting statements and evidence.
• Prepare investigative summaries, corrective‑action recommendations, and coordinate with internal stakeholders.
• Collect, validate, and analyze safety data to identify trends and emerging risks.
• Produce regular and ad‑hoc safety reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership.
• Support internal and external audits, including FAA, IS‑BAO, ARGUS, Wyvern, and customer reviews.

Required profile

• Strong collaborative mindset with ability to work across multiple departments.
• Understanding of regulatory compliance and safety best practices in aviation.
• Detail‑oriented with solid analytical and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple safety records, logs, and corrective‑action tracking.
