Rope Access Technician - Wind Turbine Blade Repair (US)

About the role

Aerones is looking for skilled Rope Access Technicians to support its operations on wind farm towers, performing hands-on wind turbine blade repair. Certified Level 3 Rope Access Technicians (RATs) handle complex structural composite flaws and manual interventions. The role requires 100% travel on a rotational basis across the U.S., and is a safety-sensitive position involving vehicle operation and independent field work.

Key responsibilities

• Perform blade repairs according to technical instructions, standards and guidelines.
• Travel 100% on a rotational basis to wind farms across the U.S., by air or truck.
• Comply strictly with safety regulations, protocols and industry standards.
• Prepare and submit repair reports and other technical documentation, and keep accurate time records.
• Drive company vehicles, including vans and trailers.
• Hold daily toolbox meetings with on-site technicians and join project meetings on-site and remotely via Google Meet.
• Follow up on delivery, shipping, control, registration and approval of arriving goods.
• Work with SIKA Filler, Hontek Leading Edge Repair, Alexit Leading Edge Repair and Resin.

Required profile

• Experience inspecting and repairing wind turbine blades from leading manufacturers.
• 3+ years of blade repair experience.
• Safety-sensitive position: must be able to work without impairment and follow company, client, FAA, OSHA and site drug and alcohol policies.

Required skills

• SPRAT or IRATA Rope Access Level 3 certification.
• GWO Basic Safety Training and minimum blade B / basic blade repair certificate.
• Personal safety certification for epoxy and isocyanates.
• Vestas BTO/ESQ/LOTO, SGRE SGTT, GTE, Easy Access/QEW, CAT 4 & 5 damage experience.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs, outdoor work in all weather, and working at heights up to 350 and 400 feet.
