About the role

The rootEd Pathways Advisor supports student engagement and post‑secondary success across rural and under‑resourced communities. Working under general supervision as a Program Coordinator I (P11), the Advisor coordinates planning, development and implementation of pathway and career advising programs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individual and group advising on postsecondary planning, educational transitions, workforce pathways, career readiness, and financial aid awareness.
• Assist participants in identifying goals, evaluating options, developing transition plans, and accessing resources that support postsecondary and workforce success.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with students, families, school personnel, and community stakeholders to support recruitment, engagement, and retention.
• Conduct outreach, presentations, workshops, school‑based activities, and one‑on‑one engagements to raise awareness of postsecondary education and workforce pathway opportunities.
• Coordinate program communications, respond to inquiries about program offerings, and support participant identification, enrollment, and ongoing engagement.
• Assist with implementation of pathway advising and student support initiatives aligned with grant objectives and regional workforce needs.
