About the role
Join Johnson & Johnson's Surgery team in Santa Clara to develop control algorithms for medical robotic platforms. You will work alongside mechanical, mechatronics, software, and clinical engineers to advance surgical robotics that improve patient outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and test control algorithms for complex robotic systems.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure software quality.
- Collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams to define software architecture and system requirements.
- Write C++ software for real‑time, safety‑critical applications and document designs.
Required profile
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD program in a related engineering field.
- U.S. work authorization without future sponsorship.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Available full‑time for the June‑August 2027 internship period.
Required skills
- Hands‑on experience with robotic hardware.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python.
- Understanding of robot forward/inverse kinematics and dynamics.
- Knowledge of classical control theory and estimation techniques.
