RN - PACU Full-Time Variable Shifts

About the role

Join Baton Rouge General as a Registered Nurse in the Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). You will provide patient‑centered care for post‑surgical patients, ensuring safe recovery and seamless transitions to the next level of care.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver nursing care across assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation phases.
• Collect comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments, perform functional and nutritional screenings.
• Develop and update interdisciplinary care plans and implement direct patient care interventions.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and on time.
• Provide patient and family education, plan discharges, and maintain accurate documentation.
• Manage post‑anesthesia patient care and procedural sedation per department guidelines.
• Interpret ECG rhythm strips and respond to cardiac arrhythmias according to ACLS standards.

Required profile

• Self‑motivated, committed to excellent patient care.
• Strong organizational and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Ability to thrive in fast‑paced, interdisciplinary environments.
• At least 1 year of nursing experience preferred.
• Current Louisiana RN licensure.

Required skills

• Basic ECG rhythm interpretation.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (within one year of hire).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (desired).
• Certified Perianesthesia Nurse (CPAN) certification (encouraged).
