RN Medical Surgical (Night Shift)

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a Registered Nurse for its medical surgical unit in Riverview, Florida. This is a full-time night shift position (19:15 PM to 06:45 AM) with a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 for eligible candidates. The pay range is $31.85 to $52.76.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive care plans with a multidisciplinary team, assessing patients' goals, biophysical, psychosocial and environmental needs and discharge planning.
• Act as a liaison to post-hospital care providers and manage patient transitions, transferring accountability at discharge.
• Respond to life-threatening situations according to protocol and supervise patient care to ensure quality and adherence to nursing standards.
• Administer medications, IV fluids and treatments accurately, and manage emergency procedures such as Code Blue and life-threatening dysrhythmias.
• Document care accurately, including drug allergies, lab data, diagnostic tests and patient education.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment, follow CDC sterile technique and isolation guidelines, and enforce safety regulations.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license; associate's degree in nursing required.
• 1+ years of acute care experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required; NIHSS required.
• Additional licensure or certification may apply depending on the unit or state.

Required skills

• Clinical judgment, critical thinking and prioritization in stressful situations.
• Accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Knowledge of medication administration and pharmacology.
