Registered Nurse - Cath Lab

About the role

AdventHealth Riverview in Florida is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Cath Lab. The nurse assesses patient needs, develops care plans, performs therapeutic and diagnostic interventions and advocates for patient safety and rights. The schedule is full-time day shift.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients' physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs and develop care plans with the interdisciplinary team
• Perform IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization and specimen collection
• Educate patients and families and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching
• Delegate tasks to non-RN personnel and maintain accurate patient charts
• Manage resources and patient flow, and follow hospital policies and standards of care
• Learn and become independent in scrub, record and circulate positions for diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular cases, and assist with patient flow in Invasive Cardiology areas
• Document procedures accurately and train new employees once independent in each position

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license and BLS and ACLS certification (required); RCIS preferred
• 1+ year of nursing experience in a specialty area (required)
• Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• Recent acute care experience and EKG competency; critical care skills
• Knowledge of critical care medications and of medications given before, during and after procedures
• Additional licensure or certification may apply depending on the unit or state

Required skills

• Operating x-ray equipment and placing service calls, adhering to radiation safety principles
• Competency in moderate sedation
• Proficiency in charting and recording, and in hemodynamic monitoring software
• Windows operating system and keyboarding skills
