Risk Manager – East Central Regional Hospital (Augusta)

About the role

The State of Georgia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Risk Manager for the East Central Regional Hospital in Augusta. This full‑time, on‑site position focuses on overseeing safety, incident management and risk mitigation across the hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the Incident Management Process at the DBHDD Hospital.
• Promote and maintain a safe working environment for individuals and staff.
• Supervise the Incident Manager and Incident Management Business Analyst.
• Manage incident‑related Corrective Action Plans under supervision.
• Establish structures and processes for risk reporting, mitigation, incident management and Health & Safety.
• Proactively assess hospital risk issues and report findings to leadership.
• Conduct proactive risk assessments, such as Failure Mode Effects Analyses (FMEAs).
• Develop performance‑improvement initiatives with the Quality Improvement Manager and hospital leaders.
• Participate in assigned Hospital System meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in healthcare management or a related field (preferred).
• Associate degree in business or related field with three years of relevant experience (minimum).
• Experience with Microsoft Office programs.
• Experience with Microsoft SharePoint.
• Experience in an inpatient psychiatric hospital setting, ICF, SNF, and Community Integration Homes.
• Experience working with individuals diagnosed with behavioral health and developmental disabilities.
• Experience analyzing clinical data.
• Knowledge of TJC (HAP, NCC, BHC) and CMS regulations related to individual and staff risk and safety.
