Risk Analyst

About the role

Check is rebuilding its payroll infrastructure and needs a Risk Analyst to own company reviews, payroll monitoring, and fraud escalation. You will work closely with internal teams, partners, and customers to keep the payroll ecosystem secure and reliable.

Key responsibilities

• Own and execute company reviews, payroll monitoring, and related processes with precision and clear communication.
• Analyze data to identify emerging risk signals for companies and payrolls.
• Mitigate fraud incidents such as account takeover, first‑party fraud, and impersonation, documenting insights and driving resolutions.
• Contribute to documentation and feedback loops to continuously improve risk systems.
• Support ad‑hoc analyses and small process‑improvement projects alongside senior analysts.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in risk and fraud investigation or a similar fintech analytics role.
• Detail‑oriented with ability to manage investigations from start to finish.
• Excellent time‑management and ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously.
• Clear, professional communication with internal teams and external parties.
• Comfort making judgment calls under ambiguity and knowing when to escalate.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn new tools; SQL experience a plus.
