Risk Analyst 2

About the role

The University of Miami is seeking a Risk Analyst 2 to independently manage risk analysis projects and collaborate with department leaders and compliance teams. This position focuses on identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks while supporting the development of comprehensive risk management programs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead risk assessments and safety audits for multiple units or system‑level projects.
• Analyze complex incident reports and claims using advanced data analysis tools.
• Prepare and present reports to leadership and regulatory agencies.
• Develop, implement, and monitor risk management policies and protocols.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on department‑specific competencies and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct root cause analyses and support corrective action planning.
• Manage event and incident reports, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.
• Review medical records for patient safety events across acute and specialty care settings.
• Collaborate with clinical leadership, Quality, Patient Safety, and operational teams to support corrective action planning.
• Assist with regulatory readiness, accreditation, and performance improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum three years of experience in healthcare risk management or patient safety.
• Professional certification such as CPHRM or CPPS is preferred.
• Strong analytical ability and learning agility.

Required skills

• Proficiency with advanced data analysis tools.
• Experience using office software and technology for reporting and documentation.
