Retail Store Designer (Remote, East Coast)

About the role

Our client, a leading American lifestyle and clothing retailer, is seeking a Retail Store Designer to support the full design process for new stores. This remote, full‑time position requires the candidate to be based on the U.S. East Coast.

Key responsibilities

• Develop innovative design solutions aligned with brand strategy and merchandising standards.
• Create feasibility layouts and adapt brand design for new retail spaces.
• Manage schematic design, produce drawings, renderings, and presentation materials for internal reviews.
• Collaborate with construction teams to address programming needs within budget and schedule.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, suppliers, and millwork vendors to meet project criteria.
• Liaise with landlords and building department representatives to obtain approvals and permits.
• Identify and escalate issues that could impact schedule, cost, or design integrity.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in retail design, store planning, architecture, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or equivalent.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Analytical and creative problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Self‑motivated with strong attention to detail and collaborative mindset.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in SketchUp.
• Experience with 3D rendering tools.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
• Knowledge of architectural drawing details, construction costs, building codes, and HVAC, electrical, and plumbing drawings.

What we offer

• Hourly compensation ranging from $35 to $55.
• Paid for every hour worked.
