Retail Service Specialist

About the role

O'Reilly Auto Parts is hiring a Retail Service Specialist for its store in Appleton, Wisconsin. The role supports the Store Manager and Assistant Managers in sales, customer service, store appearance and store operations, and includes shift management when the Assistant or Store Manager is absent. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Lead store team members in delivering excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
• Supervise customer service levels in the retail showroom, including execution of customer service programs such as Related Sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot and others.
• Answer the telephone according to company policy.
• Process buy-online/ship-to-store, hub-and-store and store-to-store transfers and DC add orders on time, and contact customers when shipments arrive.
• Handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently, using the electronic outside purchase order ledger.
• Process returns and exchanges efficiently and accurately, issue refunds with the correct payment method and stage returned merchandise in the returns area.
• Invoice all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, before it leaves the store.
• Communicate Zipline messages and delegate and complete Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
• Make sure team members follow the posted schedule, get schedule changes approved by management, and clock in and out according to policy.
• Perform store opening and closing duties, including day-end procedures, securing money and deposits, preparing bank deposits, turning on night security lights, locking doors, arming/disarming alarms and securing delivery vehicles.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to obtain RSS certification.
• Fluency in multiple languages is desired; Spanish is highly desired.

Required skills

• Retail sales experience, preferably in auto parts (desired).
• Automotive systems and repair knowledge (desired).
• ASE certification (desired).
