Restoration Technician

About the role

ServiceMaster of Columbia is hiring a full-time Restoration Technician in Columbia. The technician monitors, inspects and completes restoration jobs covering drying, demolition and other restoration activities, prepares documentation for insurance reimbursement and explains the process and next steps to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Retrieve work orders, check routes, load equipment and supplies on the truck and arrive at the job site
• Complete assigned jobs following company processes with quality control, including water damage repair such as water extraction, pack-out of contents, removal of non-salvageable materials and light construction and demolition
• Handle equipment, supplies, vehicles and products properly, report malfunctions or damage to the supervisor, and inspect completed jobs before obtaining customer signatures and requesting payment
• Monitor daily water jobs for residential and commercial customers, adjust drying plans based on meter readings and resolve customer issues
• Prepare notes, photos and documents according to company policy to support insurance reimbursement
• Report to work on time in a clean, complete uniform, prioritize activities and meet deadlines, and participate in an on-call rotation

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Experience in restoration or construction not required but preferred
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
• Good verbal and written communication and customer service skills
• Ability to read and follow product label instructions
• Physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds, stand and walk for long periods, and crawl or crouch

Required skills

• Experience using mobile software to enter data
• Certifications not required but preferred: WTR (Water Damage Restoration Technician) and ASD (Applied Structural Drying Technician)
