Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time Respiratory Therapist for its Tavares, Florida facility. The position covers day and night shifts (6am to 6:45pm or 6pm to 6:45am, availability confirmed at interview) and requires every other weekend. The pay range is $28.97 to $53.88 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Treat patients of all ages, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents and geriatrics, and document care in the medical record
• Administer respiratory therapy treatments, knowing their purpose and possible side effects
• Set up and monitor mechanical ventilators, including airway management and tracheal suctioning
• Perform arterial punctures for blood gas analysis and hemodynamic monitoring
• Assess patient needs and tolerance, and teach patients and families

Required profile

• Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science
• State Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
• 1+ years of experience as a respiratory therapist preferred
• English fluency and effective written and oral communication
• Ability to follow infection control procedures

Required skills

• Airway management and oxygen and Heliox administration
• Non-invasive and invasive mechanical ventilation
• ABG analysis, arterial cannulation and hemodynamic monitoring
• Patient advocacy and EMR documentation
