About the role
The Respiratory Therapy Intern works in assigned clinics and facilities under the supervision of licensed respiratory therapists to gain practical experience. The incumbent leverages this knowledge to help the department meet patients’ medical needs.
Key responsibilities
- Interact with customers, answer questions, perform consultations, and provide instructions.
- Train on incorporating respiratory therapy techniques and practices related to lung conditions and recovery.
- Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient records.
- Adhere to University and unit-level policies, safeguarding assets.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
- No previous experience required.
- Certification requirements as defined by the department.
- Demonstrated learning agility, teamwork, technical proficiency with office software, and strong communication skills.
