Residential Security Officer - Morning Vehicle Driver

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a full-time Security Officer who also drives a vehicle in a residential community in La Jolla, California. The officer helps manage entry points, verifies visitors and supports a welcoming environment for residents and guests, while maintaining a visible presence and conducting routine patrols. The position is day shift, Monday to Saturday.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, guests, vendors and visitors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorization for residents, guests, vendors and deliveries, and keep accurate visitor and access records.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns and critical situations calmly and professionally, following post orders and escalation procedures.
• Carry out regular and random patrols of common areas, parking areas, entry points and the perimeter to spot unauthorized activity and report maintenance or security concerns.
• Communicate professionally with residents and site management, document daily activities and incidents, and support a welcoming residential environment.

Required profile

• Valid driver's license in line with Allied Universal driver policy; required for driving positions only.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badges, and customer service, is preferred.
• At least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation and a drug screen to the extent permitted by law; licensing requirements may apply before employment.

• Shifts: Wed-Sat 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Sun 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
