Resident Inspector – New Orleans

About the role

Royal Engineers and Consultants, LLC is seeking an experienced Resident Inspector to ensure quality control throughout construction projects in New Orleans. You will monitor contractor activities, verify compliance with plans and specifications, and maintain detailed inspection records.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and measure materials, installations, and work for conformance to specifications.
• Review plans, testing and sampling plans, site layouts, and specifications to ensure contract compliance.
• Report problems to supervisors and maintain daily logs, charts, and forms detailing quality levels.
• Prepare clear inspection reports and communicate findings to engineering and construction personnel.

Required profile

• High school diploma (or equivalent work experience).
• 5–7 years of construction inspection experience, preferably in heavy civil projects such as roads, bridges, utilities, or infrastructure.
• Valid driver’s license; certifications such as LADOTD or ACI are a plus.

Required skills

• Extensive knowledge of construction principles and methods.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to use project management software and digital devices (tablet or laptop) for reporting.
