Research Pharmacy Technician 2 – GCRB (Full Time)

About the role

The University of Miami seeks a Research Pharmacy Technician 2 to support the Good Clinical Research Building (GCRB). Working under a registered pharmacist, you will manage investigational drug inventory, assist with clinical trial protocols, and ensure safe preparation of sterile products.

Key responsibilities

• Manage clinical investigational drug (CID) inventory, including ordering, receiving, organizing, and monitoring usage.
• Provide technical assistance for clinical trial protocols and operate specialized equipment.
• Handle pharmacy phone calls with professional etiquette and maintain accurate electronic and physical records.
• Compound extemporaneous products, pre‑pack medications, and prepare sterile intravenous chemotherapy or biohazardous agents following aseptic techniques.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning of sterile compounding suites in compliance with USP 797, USP 800, and Florida Board of Pharmacy regulations.
• Perform internal audits, drug accountability logs, and quality‑improvement activities for Investigational Drug Services.
• Train pharmacy learners and support ongoing skills development of technical staff.

Required profile

• Current or former staff, faculty, or temporary employee of the University of Miami (internal applicants use Workday).
• Ability to work independently under pharmacist supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
